Its hard to imagine what our NHS teams have been through and continue to endure as they help to care for huge numbers of patients affected by Covid-19. So its hardly surprising that many staff are also dealing with anxiety, depression and even post-traumatic stress disorder. The scale of the challenge is so vast we still need to be there for them, so that they can carry on with their vital work.

Be There For Them is an initiative by NHS Charities Together to directly fund psychological interventions for NHS staff, including peer-to-peer support and counselling sessions. Hopefully, with enough support, we will be able to care for those who have cared for us through such trying times and allow them to continue helping others, free from the burden of their previous trauma.
