Special Olympics Isle of Man is a Manx Charity that provides sport based activities, opportunities and competition to adults and young people with learning disabilities.

Competing under our own flag since 1995, the Isle of Man team competes on the World Stage as an independent nation.

In October 2027 we will be taking a squad of 14-16 athletes competing in six sports (Gymnastics, Athletics, Badminton, Bocce, Cycling and swimming). The world games is every four years and next years event will be hosted in Chile, Santiago. There will also be a group of coaches travelling with the athletes alongside a Head of Delegation, Assistant Head of Delegation and a medical staff member.

As you can imagine, travelling to and from Chile will come at significant expense and as a result we are looking to raise a significant sum of money to go towards travel, accommodation and kit costs.

Special Olympics IOM is a wholly volunteer ran charity and no member of the coaching and support team is paid a penny for their time.

Any money raised that went above what was required would go towards future competitions and kit costs.

If you wish to get involved in the charity do not hesitate to get in touch. We are always looking for volunteers or new coaches to add to the team and will provide training and information to anyone (alongside a DBS check).
