2026 is set to be an unforgettable year for Special Olympics Suffolk (SO Suffolk), as we prepare our incredible athletes for the Special Olympics Great Britain National Summer Games.

We are proud to share that 57 athletes from SO Suffolk have qualified to compete, supported by 15 dedicated volunteer coaches. Together, they will represent our community in athletics, badminton, boccia, gymnastics, and tennis.

Why We Need Your Help

Athletes with disabilities—including learning disabilities—often face significant barriers to participating in sport, and financial cost is one of the biggest.

It costs £600 per athlete and coach to attend the Games. Our athletes, along with their parents and carers, are already working hard to fundraise—but they can’t do it alone.

About Special Olympics Suffolk

Special Olympics Suffolk is a volunteer run, non-profit, community organisation offering year round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual (learning) disabilities.

We provide competition pathways that help athletes grow—from local events to national and international competitions. Our athletes have a proud history of success, including gold and silver medals at the 2023 Special Olympics World Games in Berlin.
