Jack's marathon for Spectra

Jack Burnett is raising money for Spectra

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Spectra are proud providers of accessible, community based: sexual health support and testing - peer-led counselling - identity specific wellbeing groups - art and movement therapy. Our London based health advocacy and harm reduction services prioritise the needs of trans adults and Sex Workers.

Story

I won Newham Council's raffle to run the London Marathon, so this is a great opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause.

My last job was documenting the experiences of trans people in Lewisham navigating health systems, which is incredibly tiresome and challenging Spectra stood out to me as doing great work. Their peer-led service health advocacy service was invaluable to more than one of participants in getting the care they needed, and so I am running for them.

Spectra delivers peer-based services to under-served communities, focussing on health and wellbeing.

They work particularly with LGBTQ+ communities, including young people and adults, offering counselling, independent health advocacy, social groups, peer mentoring, sexual health support, testing, training and outreach.
