Story
Saturday 10th May sees the return of the Spen Valley Fun Run. Bringing students, families and the community together for a morning of fun and games at Spen Valley High School’s playing fields. Gates open at 8:30am and the race starts at 9:30am on the fields at Spen Valley High School. The emphasis is on the FUN!
The Spen Valley Fun Run has continued to grow in popularity and is a highlight in the school’s events calendar. This year we hope to be bigger and better than ever before. Supporting one of our own fantastic teachers, Mr Nolan and his family, who are in turn being supported by the brilliant Candlelighters.
About Candlelighters
Candlelighters is a charity bringing light and hope to families facing childhood cancer across Yorkshire. Providing emotional, practical and financial support from diagnosis and for as long as is needed, as well as funding research into childhood cancers.
Each year, over 150 children in Yorkshire are diagnosed with cancer. When a child is diagnosed, lives are turned upside down instantly: not just for the child but the entire family. Getting well again can be a long and challenging journey, emotionally, physically, and financially.
Please visit www.spenvalleyhighschool.co.uk for details if you would like to join us.
This year we want to make this even bigger and better with an increase in the number of participants. We are keen to encourage as many staff, students - their families and friends along with members of the local community to support this worthwhile event. Spectators are welcome and there will be stalls and refreshments available.
We understand that not everyone is able to make it on the day and so we have set up this page to enable you to support before the event takes place.
