Supporting Her Place – Mid Cheshire District Team

As part of the SP Energy Networks 5 District Walk, the Mid Cheshire District Team is walking in support of a truly transformative local charity: Her Place (formerly known as Motherwell Cheshire CIO).

Empowering Women and Girls Across Cheshire

Her Place is a Cheshire-based charity dedicated to empowering women and girls to achieve their potential and thrive. The organisation provides vital mental health support, mentoring, and wellbeing services tailored to the unique challenges women and girls face.

Their programmes cover a wide spectrum—from supporting teenage girls in schools with confidence-building and mental health awareness, to offering therapy and peer groups for women dealing with trauma, domestic abuse, or low self-worth.

Her Place offers:

*One-to-one counselling and therapy

*Specialist support for young women and girls

*Workshops and group sessions focused on empowerment and mental wellbeing

*Community projects that foster connection and belonging

Why We’re Walking

The Mid Cheshire team chose Her Place because we believe empowering women and girls empowers whole communities. The charity’s work is local, personal, and impactful—often stepping in when statutory services are overstretched or unavailable.

We’ve seen first-hand the difference they make to women rebuilding their lives, young girls finding their voice, and mothers navigating challenges with dignity and strength.

The 5 District Walk

On 6–7 June, we’re walking 70km across five districts in SP Energy Networks’ Manweb licence area. It’s a tough challenge—but one we’re proud to take on in the name of resilience, equality, and opportunity.

Every pound you donate will help Her Place continue delivering critical, free services to the women and girls of Cheshire—helping them feel heard, supported, and empowered.
