A brilliant day of fun, friends, laughter and music as some incredible big-hearted bikers going that extra mile without moving an inch to help beat childhood cancer.

Spinning to Beat Childhood Cancer 🚴

Since 2023, 100s of amazing people from across Lichfield, with big hearts, sweaty brows and increasingly sore bottoms, have helped raise nearly £10,000 for Children with Cancer UK.

Powering work that genuinely means some childhood cancer patients are alive today that would have died if we'd not help make this progress.

Why We Do It ❤️

Spin on the Square is inspired by the memory, Christopher, who died of an inoperable brain tumour at the tender age of six.

Christopher’s mum, Dawn, shares his story:

“Christopher was a bright & bubbly boy with a wicked sense of humour. He never complained about life and all the things he had to go through to help him with his battle.

Sadly, Christopher didn't pull through, and he'll be forever missed but with the continued research and advances in modern medicines, more lives are being saved.

There's still a lot to do so that's why we continue to raise awareness and money for Children with Cancer UK – their work makes a huge difference.”

Heartbreakingly, Christopher’s story isn’t unique.

Every year, 1,800 children are diagnosed with cancer. Heartbreakingly, 240 of those children die from cancer every year. That’s 1,800 families whose lives are turned upside down, and 240 families whose lives will never be the same again.

Children with Cancer UK provide the vital support families need when their child is being treated for cancer. And thanks to Children with Cancer UK’s work over the past 35 years, advances of in detection, treatment and care mean that 84% of child cancer patients now survive for 5 years or more.

Hello! We're the LEJoG Sisters - Dawn & Sharon - two 60-something sisters from Staffordshire.

In 2023, we puffed, panted & pedalled the length of the country raising over £27,000 for the fight against childhood cancer - in memory of Dawn's son, Christopher.

We’re excited to be back with Spin on the Square once again. Hoping to pedding even further and raise even more.
