Story
On 20th September, I'll be throwing myself out of a plane (with a parachute, don’t worry!) to raise money for Harry’s Rainbow, a brilliant charity that supports bereaved children and their families.
Last year, two of my amazing colleagues at Spinks Creative took on this challenge for the same cause. This year, it’s my turn… and for me, it’s deeply personal.
In August 2023, I lost my Dad to cancer and Parkinson’s Disease. My Dad was a huge adventurer, he loved the thrill of flying and often took to the skies in his microlight. He also had a passion for skydiving!
Not long ago, I found his old skydive logbook, full of jumps he’d done in the UK and the USA. One of them was 8,500 feet above Perris Valley, California, in August 1989… when I was just a few months old (understandable really, far more exciting than a crying baby at home!). The picture I’m holding above is from that exact jump.
So, this is more than just a skydive for me, it’s a chance to experience something my Dad enjoyed so much, to honour his adventurous spirit, and to raise money for a cause that makes a real difference to children going through the pain of losing someone they love.
If you can, please donate and help me make this jump count; for my Dad, for Harry’s Rainbow, and for every child they support.
Thank you 💜
