The war memorial above the west door of St Peter’s Church Marchington has only some of the names of the men who were lost from the village during the First World War.

22 men from the 106 who left the village for the First World War did not return, yet only 15 are named on the war memorial. A further 3 men were lost in the Second World War, and there is no memorial to them. We are raising money enable us to feature the missing names from the memorial and the names of the men who lost their lives in the Second World War.
