Story
As the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) team for Adult Social Care in Neath Port Talbot, we are proud to be taking part in a sponsored 15 mile walk in support of the Jac Lewis Foundation, a vital mental health and wellbeing service based in Ammanford and serving the surrounding communities.
This walk is more than just a fundraising effort. It’s a way for us to show solidarity with a cause that aligns deeply with our values and the work we do every day. The Jac Lewis Foundation provides preventative mental health support through a team of professionally qualified counsellors and wellbeing advisors, offering free and accessible services to individuals who may be struggling but not yet in crisis. Their work helps people before they reach breaking point, something we know is crucial in building healthier, more resilient communities.
As a frontline team, we see first-hand how early intervention and emotional support can change lives. The Foundation’s commitment to compassionate, community-based care mirrors our own mission to connect people with the right support at the right time. By walking together, we’re not only raising funds, we’re raising awareness of the importance of mental health services that are proactive, inclusive, and rooted in the community.
We hope our efforts will help the Jac Lewis Foundation continue to grow and reach even more people in need. Every step we take is a step toward a future where mental health is treated with the same urgency and care as physical health and where no one feels alone in their struggle.
