Story
We're raising money for Torriano Primary School. Art is for everyone!
Have you ever wanted to be an artist? Have you thought doing art was not for you? Do you wish you had been encouraged more as a child?
Make a small donation to 'Sponsor a Scribble' and help give children at Torriano Primary School the opportunity to engage with art! This is so important, especially today when funding for art, music and creative projects has been cut so much.
Is scribbling 'Art'?
What happens when you give 12 children some Sharpie marker pens and a big piece of white chipboard? You can imagine! They start to get creative. They express their energy and enthusiasm, they let their minds draw crazy figures and shapes in bright colours. They interact and write cheeky things to each other. And finally.... they scribble it all out! You can feel the energy!

What happened next?
Well, you could take the board back out to the rubbish. OR you could look at it and see the art hidden in the scribbles. Maybe... if you were to colour it in, like the old-fashioned painting-by-numbers? For over a year in spare moments dad Sebastian (not at all an artist!) patiently coloured and coloured, leaving the children's doodles intact as much as possible, wanting to catch their energy.

Sponsor a Scribble!
Please Sponsor a Scribble! Chip in for Chipboard! You can donate any amount, however small. All money raised will go to the Torriano Parent Teacher Association to support projects with artist Jack Cornell, who has been working to inspire the chidren at Torriano for over 10 years. We hope to raise £500 for the PTA - and at the same time this sum will 'buy' the painting for Torriano School to get children inspired to do their own art projects. If we don't reach the target all donations will still go to the school. Torriano is proud to be an Arts Council England Gold Artsmark school and is working towards Platinum.

Thanks to Michela at Thrifty Beans cafe for hanging the board on their wall. From 24 March 2025, pop in to Thrifty Beans, 35 Brecknock Rd, London N7 0BT for a coffee, and get inspired to pick up a colouring pen and get doodling... You can also make cash or card donations in the cafe.
And here it is...
