Sponsor Matty – Raising £30,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital by 2030

Hello, I’m Mathew Whitehouse, founder of Sponsor Matty.

Sponsor Matty is a long-term fundraising initiative dedicated to supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital and helping make a positive difference to the lives of children and families who rely on its services.

My mission is to raise £30,000 by 2030 through a series of fundraising challenges,. Every challenge I undertake is designed to raise both funds and awareness for this incredible cause.

My first major challenge will take place in November 2026, when I attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain at 5,895 metres (19,341 feet). Reaching the summit will be a huge personal achievement, but more importantly it will mark the beginning of a much larger fundraising journey that will continue for years to come.

Their dedicated teams deliver life-saving treatments, specialist care, pioneering research, and vital support services for patients and their families during some of the most challenging times of their lives.

My Fundraising Journey

Between now and 2030, I will be taking on a variety of fundraising activities and challenges, including:

• Future endurance and adventure challenges
