About Burps Charity:
Burps is a beacon of hope for families with babies in the Stoke Mandeville Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Run by parents who understand the challenges firsthand, Burps tirelessly works to improve facilities, provide essential support, and fund state-of-the-art equipment for the NICU.
Why SPOR is Taking the Plunge:
For Madi, Chelsea and all the SPOR family, this mission hits close to home. Beloved co-founder Chris and his wife recently experienced the exceptional care and support of Burps firsthand. Their story is one of triumph over adversity, as their daughter Millie, fought bravely with the aid of the NICU team and Burps Charity.
Chris’ BURPS Story:
After three years of longing and hoping, my wife and I were overjoyed to discover that she was pregnant. And the joy doubled when the first scan revealed not just one, but two little miracles growing inside her – Millie and Sophia. On January 17, 2024, our world lit up as Millie and Sophia came into this world. However, our happiness was soon clouded by worry when Millie began experiencing breathing difficulties shortly after birth. She was swiftly taken to NICU ward, Millie fought bravely and emerged victorious. Today, we are immensely grateful to be a happy family of four, with both our daughters thriving. Our decision to support Burps through this skydiving adventure is a testament to the incredible work they do. They not only saved Millie’s life but also provided unwavering support to countless other families facing similar challenges.
