Story
On the 17th of September 2016 I had a brain aneurism. Sorry about the images but 1000 words and all that.

Thankfully my wife acted quickly and had a doctor at the house in about 20 minutes, he knew what he was looking at and I was rushed to Lister Hospital. I had a CT scan and they then rushed me to Addenbrookes Hospital.
They carried out surgery within a matter of hours where they cut my scalp, cut an inch of my skull out and put a titanium clip over the vein in my brain to stop the bleed.
Most of these events are still a bit fuzzy for me but I do remember waking up the next morning with 29 staples in my head.
I was told by the surgeon that there are three outcomes of a brain aneurism, one you're dead, two you're severally disabled, three you're lucky. I was lucky but I believe it is only because of the fantastic staff and they're amazing reaction times that I survived.
Now I would like to give something back, a few friends and myself will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon and then heading straight to Carlisle to spend six days walking the 82 miles across Hadrian's Wall Path.
Also I'd like to prove to myself that at 49 years of age I'm capable of doing this.
Please give what can to support this amazing hospital in all that they do, I didn't expect to need them but thankfully they were there when I did.
