Square Peg Activities Ltd - Disability Charity Birmingham

Lauren Baker is raising money for Square Peg Activities Ltd
We support children with disabilities as well as their parents and siblings. We offer inclusive play activities as well as bespoke experiences in school holidays. Alongside this we run sessions for children who are out of school and offer parent support.

Story

We are a local charity supporting over 200 disabled children (and adults) from our premises in Boldmere delivering term time clubs and holiday clubs. Our families have a range of disabilities and nobody is excluded.

The cost of living crisis affects everyone including charities, there just aren't as many funding pots available and the ones there are are spread thin. We get no government funding and have overheads to cover to continue our activities.

The free activities ensure that no child is excluded due to finance, they welcome children with all disabilities and ages as well as their siblings.  Children are able to play with their friends in an environment designed for their needs and enjoy a social life that others take for granted.

Local support is vital to helping us achieve our vision of creating a world where every family with a disabled child in Birmingham can access leisure, advice and community.
