The Royal Hospital Chelsea provides a fitting home to veteran soldiers, fondly known as the Chelsea Pensioners. The Hospital is a place where veterans find comradeship and receive the very highest standards of care.

Story

This September, the Square Roots team is taking on the Thames Bridges Trek to raise money for the Chelsea Pensioners Veterans Outreach programme.

Our goal is to help reduce social isolation and loneliness among older veterans, especially those over 65 who served in the Armed Forces and Merchant Navy. By providing a sense of community, camaraderie, and shared experience, the program offers a vital lifeline.

Your donation will help fund a variety of activities for veterans, including:

- Weekly drop-in sessions where veterans can connect with Chelsea Pensioners.

- Monthly themed events and activities in the purpose-built Activities Centre.

- Gardening and other outdoor activities that promote health and wellbeing in the beautiful grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

- The program also uses a digital outreach service called Old Comrades to connect with veterans beyond London.

By supporting us, you'll be directly helping veterans reconnect with their community, form new friendships, and feel a sense of belonging. Every step we take on the Thames Bridges Trek will be for them.

Thank you for your support!
