Story
Why I’m fundraising?
Menopause affects every woman — yet too many suffer in silence, feel dismissed, or wait years for the right help.
As a GP with a special interest in women’s health and menopause care, I see daily how peri-menopause and menopause impact confidence, mental health, relationships, and work. Many women are still misdiagnosed, offered antidepressants instead of appropriate treatment, or told to “just cope”.
I am raising money for the Menopause Research & Education Fund to improve awareness, education, and research — so women receive timely, compassionate, evidence-based care.
This is important to me not just professionally but also personally. I am raising these funds in memory of my mother who passed away last year with osteoporosis and frailty.
Menopause is normal....Suffering is not!!!
I am excited to share that I will be participating in the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon on 20 September 2026 to raise funds for the Menopause Research and Education Fund. I will also be delivering educational talks on perimenopause and menopause this year to raise awareness about women’s health at multiple venues.
Your support can make a significant difference.
I have set a target of £500 to help further this important research and education initiative. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goal and helps empower women with knowledge and resources during their menopause journey. Together, we can make a lasting impact. Thank you for considering supporting this vital cause!
