Save St Andrew’s Thornhill Square!

St Andrew’s is a much loved local landmark, a community hub, and a place of worship.

We have saved St Andrew's spire with grants from Historic England, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Cloudesley Charity and Benefact Charity - and amazing personal donations from wonderful local people. Amazingly, we raised over £1,000,000 in 2025/26.

Work is underway and is expected to complete in late 2026.

Now an opportunity has come up for us to repair the tower too, but we need to act fast.

We have always known that the tower beneath the spire needs serious stonework repairs. Now, if we can maximise the use of scaffolding already in place to repair the spire, we can repair the tower as well and save money.

We are approaching grant giving bodies and hoping for similar success as with the spire. But that will still leave a gap of £400,000 which we hope to fill with your amazing local generosity. And - fundraising must continue beyond that for further building repairs, internal works, updating facilities etc.
