St Barbara's Lent Appeal fundraiser for Tearfund

St Barbara's Church is raising money for Tearfund
“Lent Appeal”
Your fundraising is urgently needed to help provide life-saving aid to people fleeing conflict.

Story

We are fundraising for the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) today. Please consider donating to our page. Decades of violent conflict in the DRC have resulted in an urgent humanitarian crisis. Millions of people have been forced to flee their homes to escape the violence, and are living in temporary camps.

In an already desperate situation, recent fighting in the city of Goma means families who are still traumatised from losing their homes are being forced to flee once again. An estimated 3,000 people have been killed and 2,800 injured in recent fighting in and around Goma.

Tearfund staff and partners are currently:

Distributing clean water and hygiene supplies to people living in temporary camps, schools and churches.

Setting up multiple water points so people have easier access to clean water.

Distributing cash to help people buy food and other essential items.

Please join us in supporting Tearfund today. £31 could provide a hygiene kit with soap and other essentials.
