Story
***Since we set up this page, some of you will now know that after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, Fiona passed away peacefully at the hospice on Friday 16th June 2023, and we now continue with this fundraising challenge in her memory***
As many of you know, Fiona is now receiving care at St Columba's, and having been overwhelmed by their outstanding care and compassion, I am taking part in their France Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge to raise funds which will help to ensure that this work can continue and be available to those in need. The challenge is to cycle 314 miles (506 km) across France from the Atlantic coast in Bordeaux to Sete on the Mediterranean coast.
This event especially appeals to us as Fiona liked to explore new places by bike - the random cycle photos are from South Uist, Islay and Lismore - and also that it takes place on her native French soil.
All donations will be gratefully received by the hospice trust, and please feel free to share this page with everyone you know!
St Columba’s Hospice Care provides palliative and end-of-life care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. As an independent charity at the heart of the local community they have been offering free, flexible and person-centred care and support to their patients and their families for over 40 years.
You can find out more about all of their services and the work they're doing across Edinburgh and the Lothians by visiting the website www.stcolumbashospice.org.uk.
