Story
Located on the Chester Road Wrexham, St Margaret's church serves the communities of Garden Village and surrounding areas. It is the home of many community groups such as Sunday club, weekly warm space for all ages, craft groups, poetry and midweek eucharist services. All are welcome to our church for these groups and other activities which take place on a weekly basis.
The church began consecration in early 1928 designed by T Alwyn Lloyd and was consecrated by the first archbishop of Wales, Alfred George Edwards on 17th December 1928 upon completion. It is constructed of rustic brick and render with a roof of Westmorland slate.
We are hoping to raise money for emergency repairs and renovations to the church in time to celebrate its 100th anniversary in December 2028, areas needing urgent attention are the church's spire, a complete electrical rewire inside the church. Interior and exterior decorating including plastering of walls in the lady chapel, we also need to replace the heating system, the existing being well past it's sell by date, it is no longer cost effective and does not meet with the new eco friendly standards required.
These repairs and renovations are essential to ensure the church can continue to provide for the community it serves for the current and future generations.
Any donations would be gratefully received to allow the repairs to take place.
