EDP Lisbon Marathon · 25 October 2025 ·

St Nicholas Hospice Care is a local charity based in West Suffolk and Thetford, serving our community since 1984. As a charity, we believe everyone matters in life and death, and we strive for something better for those facing dying, death and grief.

Story

8 friends, 1 marathon, 1 great cause!

In October, we're taking on the Lisbon Marathon to raise vital funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care. Every donation will help support the hospice's incredible work providing care and comfort to patients and families in our community. Please give what you can - every step we run is powered by your support!

Meet the team

The lineup is comprised of Alannah, Ella, Ollie, Olly, George, Sam, Rosie and Millie. We decided that working together every day wasn't quite enough, so we've signed up for the ultimate team bonding experience! Only one of us has run a marathon before, so this is set to be a huge challenge! We've also heard on the grapevine that Lisbon has a reputation as the hardest marathon in Europe, a brutal combo of heat and hills...

Why St Nic's?

St Nicholas Hospice provided the most incredible care for Millie's dad, Marcus, before he passed away in 2017. We are running to help fund their work so that they can continue to support families during the most difficult times of their lives.
