Year 6 Sowing the Seed - Sponsored "Bikeathon"

We are Scope. We campaign to transform attitudes to disability, tackle injustice and inspire action. We create opportunities and provide information and support that empowers.

Story

As part of our school's "Sowing the Seed" challenge during Lent, the children in Year 6 have chosen to support the charity SCOPE. They will be taking part in a sponsored "Bikeathon" and are very grateful for your sponsorship. They plan for each child to cycle 20 minutes and record their distance. They are going to put all the children's distances together to see how far they could have travelled. Additionally, they are making a mixture of sweet treats to sell at our Sowing the Seed sale, which will take place towards the end of Lent. The children are excited to work hard to raise money for this amazing charity. Thank you for your support!

There are 16 million disabled people in the UK. That’s one in four of us. Life is harder when you’re disabled. You're twice as likely to be unemployed, getting care is a struggle and the cost of living is higher. It’s wrong and unacceptable.

So, we are fundraising for Scope to create a fairer society.

We want a future that’s fair to disabled people, always. Together we’ll use our collective power to change attitudes and end the injustice.

Join us in making this happen. Let's end disability inequality, today.
