BEN is missed every single minute of every single day. Much loved father, son brother and friend. He was so very kind, funny, loving, helpful, friendly the list goes on, but he was in pain. His pain was so intense that the only way he felt he could ever escape it was to take his own life. The pain a suicide victim felt is passed onto the people who loved them to carry with them for the rest of their lives. Loosing someone to suicide is a grief like no other and full of thoughts that ' I should have, I could have, why didn't I, what if, ' etc A guilt that you should have and could have saved that person if only...it's consuming and never goes away.

Unfortunately its too late for us to save Ben, but we can try and save others who are feeling as helpless as he did and hopefully make a difference before it's too late for them and their loved ones.

Ben LOVED his football, so we, his friends and family are holding a memorial football match in his name hoping to raise money for Calm - Campaign Against Living Miserably and a suicide prevention charity. They have loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.

£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.

Every week 125 people take their own lives in the UK. CALM exists to change this by offering life saving services, provoking national conversation and bringing people together to reject living miserably.

So come along to the match at Catons Lane Saffron walden 2pm on Sunday 11th May 2025, enjoy the match, buy some cakes, raffle tickets and have a go at the toy tombola or just donate here. Every penny counts!
