Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My son Archer was born with a unilateral profound hearing loss. He failed his new born screening and has worn hearing device since he was 6 months old.
Archer was 1 of 23 children in Bristol to had been born with some sort of hearing loss/hard of hearing in 2023.
After his diagnosis we were put in touch with the family deaf centre who has been an absolute god send with there support, advice and guidance. We have met family's like ours, and have become part of the deaf community which before now I knew very little if not nothing about.
We have enjoyed events that they have put on from day trips, to social gatherings, coffee mornings, teddy bear clinic where they set up an audiology roll play with the children and what type of hearing loss they have. And they have been inclusive of all our family.
Myself and my friend will be walking Snowdonia in June to help raise any sort of funds we can to just give back to the family deaf centre. This is just one day I have dedicated to face a challenge, but Archer, like may deaf children face daily challenges in a hearing world which I can't even comprehend.
So please if you can donate as they are a small funded charity. Or please feel free to check out their website where you can donate directly.
Thank you
