Story

I’m doing this for my Dad. Walking the steps that he can’t.

In 2023 my Dad was diagnosed with MND and our family life turned upside down.

MND is a group of neurological disorders that progressively damage motor neurones, leading to muscle weakness and wasting - meaning very simple things you and I can do - my Dad, no longer can.

Imagine needing to scratch your head, pull up your socks or drink your morning coffee. But your arms don’t work. Your brain is trying to move them, but they don't budge.

You can’t eat, can’t dress, can’t shake somebodies hand, can’t hold your phone, can’t turn a page in your book. & then ultimately, you cant walk.

There is no cure, and the condition is all about management of pain and being comfortable. Something that is actually very very hard.

Late in 2024, my Dad had an accident meaning he now lives in full time care and doesn’t walk much. He is confined to a modified recliner, or his bed. Not leaving his room, no longer enjoying his hobbies, and sadly no longer living with my Mom.

The condition takes away any quality of life & has a huge affect; emotionally and mentally on those family members around the person affected.

💙🧡 Please donate anything you can - it will be hugely appreciated 🧡💙
