Story
We’re lacing up for a good cause, even if our knees aren’t quite what they used to be!
This Friday, a team from University of Staffordshire will be taking part in a 5-a-side football tournament to raise money for the brilliant charity, SpecialEffect.
We’re a group of games academics, mostly middle-aged, slightly out of breath, and probably more familiar with a controller than a set of goal posts, but we’re determined to give it a proper go! We’ll be facing off against teams from games studios across the UK, all in the name of supporting a cause that really matters.
Every penny we raise will go straight to SpecialEffect, a charity that uses cutting-edge technology to help people with physical disabilities enjoy video games and communicate with the world around them. From helping kids in hospital classrooms to enabling gamers with severe mobility challenges to play again, their work is inspiring.
Please chip in if you can—your support means the world.
