Sponsor our Beaver leader, Stag, to have his head shaved to raise money for a new hut!

1st Orwell Scout Group is raising money to build a storage shed and need your help. On 28th November Stag will be shaving off his hair and beard, and even letting the Beavers help…!

1st Orwell do not have a permanent building to call home - our equipment is scattered across trailers, a small shed, and leaders’ garages & lofts. Finding what we need for activities and camps is time-consuming and much of our kit is at risk of damp, mould and being damaged from inappropriate storage. The Group has planning permission for a large storage hut on The Moor in Melbourn where we will be able to keep all our kit in one secure, dry and accessible place.

We’re £5,000 short of our fundraising target, so please do encourage your family and friends to sponsor Stag for this facility that will benefit the young people of our villages for decades to come.

The Big Shave will take place at Melbourn Primary School on Friday 28th November from about 6.15pm. You are more than welcome to come along to watch, support, laugh and cheer on as Stag goes bald (there will be a collection bucket...!)
