On Monday 4th May, Stamford Bridge PFA are hosting 2 walks all in aid of raising money for the wonderful Candlelighters charity.

We will open our clubhouse doors early to buy bacon and sausage butties to fuel those miles, and then we’d love to see you join us after for drinks and a visit from the fish and chip van.

Candlelighters support children diagnosed with cancer or blood conditions and by extension, support their families as well.

It’s easy to believe that cancer in children is rare but each year in Yorkshire alone; around 150 children will be diagnosed with a form of cancer. Many of those children will be sent to LGI for their treatment and that’s where the support from Candlelighters comes in.

Candlelighters was nominated as the charity to fundraise for by one of our own PFA volunteers. Harper Moore and her family were supported throughout a gruelling 9 months of treatment in 2022-2023. We are pleased to say that Harper is now almost 3 years post her bone marrow transplant and thriving at Stamford Bridge School.

So let’s help this charity and many other families by raising money to offer more support and fund vital research and in the words of Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back:

“Do or do not, there is no try!”
