Stamford Bridge take on the Marathon Relay

Stamford Bridge PFA is raising money for York Against Cancer

Yorkshire Marathon Relay 2025 · 19 October 2025 ·

York Against Cancer is a local charity helping local people affected by cancer. We provide care and support for patients and their families in York and North & East Yorkshire, fund pioneering cancer research and provide cancer awareness education and information. We'll get through this together.

Story

The Stamford Bridge Playing Fields Association is excited to share our plan to fundraise for local charity York Against Cancer through this year’s Yorkshire Marathon on Sunday 19th October.

We have three teams entering the marathon relay, which will see groups of 6 members tackle a leg of the marathon route each to complete the course.

In true community spirit, our 18 runners are coming together from across all our sports (bowls, cricket, football, netball and tennis) to lace up their trainers and raise funds for a cause close to many of our hearts.

On the day itself we will support the cause with a cheer station in Stamford Bridge, as well as a pop up cafe at the Clubhouse. Free parking will be available, and the bar will be open in the afternoon for a well deserved drink for runners and supporters alike.

Further information will follow on our social media pages. We look forward to seeing you there!
