Story
Benny is a happy and caring four-year-old who loves dinosaurs, Ninja Turtles, pizza, and dreams of playing for Newcastle United when grows up. In February 2023, at just two years old, he was diagnosed with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma. After completing treatment in March 2025, he began DFMO, a relapse-prevention drug. Sadly, scans in September showed that Benny’s cancer had returned. His family is now fundraising in the hope that they can travel to Rome for CAR T-cell therapy.
After seeing Benny’s heartbreaking story shared across social media, myself and Caroline immediately recognised him from Ashford’s Saturday morning football class. Like so many others, this story hit incredibly close to home for us. Having a little boy of a similar age, we know just how precious our children are. We felt compelled to do everything we can to support Benny’s unbelievably strong family as they work tirelessly to raise the funds needed for potentially life-saving treatment.
Next month, myself and Caroline will be walking from our home in Spennymoor to St James’ Park, Benny’s favourite football team, to raise as much money as possible to help him reach his target. This isn’t about the challenge or the distance; it’s about raising awareness and doing everything we can for this brave little boy. We hope that by sharing Benny’s story, others feel the same urgency and compassion that we did.
Please donate if you can.
