Story
As part of the national Stannah 4K Ride, colleagues at our Andover headquarters are taking on their section of the 4,000 mile challenge. This is a distance equal to one full lap of Britain and the equivalent of 1.28 million lift journeys. The challenge will bring together more than 700 colleagues across Stannah Lifts Distribution and Service (LD&S), with one indoor exercise bike travelling to 12 Stannah sites across the UK. Each location has two weeks to complete its mileage target and raise funds for a local charity chosen by colleagues.
For the Andover leg of the challenge, we're raising money for the Countess of Brecknock Hospice, a charity that provides vital respite and palliative care for adults living with life-limiting illnesses in Andover and the surrounding villages. The Hospice also offers essential comfort and support to families, friends and carers during incredibly difficult times.
The cause is especially meaningful to use. The hospice provided exceptional care and compassion to the father of one of our colleagues and many others across the business have shared similar experiences of the difference the Hospice has made to their families. As the hospice relies solely on voluntary donations community support is essential to ensuring it can carry out its vital work.
Over nine days, colleagues at the Andover site will collectively cycle at least 330 miles, taking turns on the bike alongside their day to day roles. Every mile contributes to the national 4k target and every donation helps support the Hospice’s incredible work.
Andover is one of 12 Stannah sites taking part, each raising money for a charity chosen by colleagues. Together, we’re uniting as one national team to support causes that matter deeply to our communities.
