Bidwells Oxford 10k 2025 · 11 May 2025 ·

Christian Development Uganda raises funds which are used to support the rural poor in southern Uganda. We facilitate primary education in highland areas, engage in rural community development through training in agriculture, in flood and erosion prevention, in nutrition, hygiene and child care, through health initiatives (such as ante-natal training, HIV testing, immunisation and de-worming) and by setting up community savings and loan schemes. Through sponsorship we arrange secondary education for vulnerable children who would otherwise lack protection, care, food and clothes as well as an education. We tackle superstition and witchcraft, anti-social behaviour, promiscuity and crime through evangelism which also provides people whose traditional way of life has been disrupted with the moral and ethical foundation of Christianity.

Story

We are five teachers (past and present) from Stanton Harcourt School, and we are proud to have a seven-year partnership with Christian Development Uganda. Over the years, we've developed a close connection with the Batwa children of rural south-west Uganda, supporting projects that make a real difference to their lives.

In 2024-25, we are raising funds to install a brand-new playground at Mukitojo Primary School. The playground we helped install at Kynurashengye has brought much joy and benefit to the children there.

To make this happen, we will be running the Bidwells 10k in Oxford! We would be incredibly grateful for any support you can give — every donation, big or small, will help bring the gift of play to the children of Mukitojo Primary.
