Story

The Salvation Army has been working tirelessly in Staple Hill for 140 years. Our building, in the heart of Staple Hill, has experienced many happy events, helped assist many people, and been a focal point for the local community throughout.

Following a generous gift from the Harry Crook Foundation we developed plans to help refurbish our worship hall to include an additional community space under a newly installed balcony. This will give us greater flexibility to meet the varying needs of our local community. At the same time we are refurbishing our toilets, along with improving access to the 'spaces' at the rear of the building. Upgraded audio and visual capabilities will improve engagement for those needing support in these areas.

We are so grateful for the ongoing support of our local community and appreciate that many people are struggling at the moment. However, if you can help in any way, we would be thankful as we work towards making our building ready for you, for the next 140 years. Thank you.
