Story
When our son Ronnie was born, he struggled to keep his blood sugar up. He was diagnosed with transient hyperinsulinism: his body was making too much insulin, so his blood sugar kept dropping dangerously low. That meant frequent heel-prick tests, carefully timed feeds and a lot of worried nights.
The team on the Starlight neonatal unit at Barnet Hospital were incredible. They looked after Ronnie around the clock, explained everything along the way, and looked after us too at a time when we felt completely out of our depth. We’ll never be able to thank them enough.
To keep on top of his blood sugars, feeds and nappies, we built a small app called Ronnie, and we’ve made it available to other families going through the same thing. The app is free to use. A donation here unlocks some extra features, and every penny goes straight to the Starlight unit, to help them care for the next baby and family who need them.
Thank you for supporting Starlight.
