We’re raising funds to provide a Barge moored next to the Emergency Department at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington.

St Mary's is one of London's four Major Trauma Centres. At any one time around 160 acute care staff may be on duty, currently sharing a single small staff room with little space for recovery or quiet reflection.

A specially designed barge in Paddington Basin, alongside the hospital, will give doctors, nurses and support staff a calm, restorative space to step away from the pressures of emergency care, recharge and return ready to care for others.

The Barge will help frontline staff recover after physically and emotionally demanding shifts, process the impact of traumatic experiences, and protect their well-being while continuing to deliver exceptional patient care.

They must raise £230,000 by January 2027!
