Imagine you're going out for a run with a friend. Their half of the running route is clear, while yours is lined with hurdles. Unfair, right? Unfortunately, this is what our education system is like for the UK's poorest children.

All kids work hard at school, but those from disadvantaged families face additional obstacles just to keep up with their wealthier classmates. The pandemic has only made this worse: ten years of progress towards an equitable education system have been lost.
