Since my arrival as incumbent, I have made it a priority to balance our budget. For the past decade, this parish church has been in deficit most years, to the tune of ~£3000. At this rate, the church will be bankrupt in just a few decades, after its thousand year history. Therefore, from now on the annual Patronal festival will also coincide with a Gift Day, when we will be encouraged to be generous to our ancient parish church to ensure its long-term survival and thriving.
