Recently I attended a Beacon counselling session held in head office, which aims to promote the ideas around dealing with mental health issues and to recognise them in yourself and others. They not only hold these sessions, but facilitate the counselling for all people 5 years old and above. They are a local charity who stretch far beyond Stockport, and whilst I have not used their services, I can confirm that they are a great charity to get behind. I have said to many of you before, when I was in retail for 19 years my mental health wasn’t in the best of places, and it would have been great to use services like Beacon (and others). Sometimes you just don’t realise you need to. .

I would love nothing more than to help them succeed in continuing to support those who need their help. Mental health, I think we can all agree, is something that affects us all in some way or another and charities like Beacon can really make a difference.

Given that I am not a public speaker or therapist, I felt that throwing myself out of a plane might be the next best thing I can do to support the charity. I really will appreciate any amount of donation and it will all help.

Side note - if there is a worst case scenario there may be a job going on the 14th July. I'd get your CV's updated just in case. :)
