Rat Race 100 – Edinburgh Castle to Glamis Castle

In July, Meggie and I will be taking on the incredible challenge of the Rat Race 100, covering 100 miles from Edinburgh Castle to Glamis Castle in under 48 hours.

This will be the biggest physical challenge either of us has ever attempted. The route will test our endurance, determination and resilience as we walk day and night across Scotland. There will undoubtedly be difficult moments, but knowing we are supporting such an important cause will help keep us moving forward.

We have chosen to raise money for Maggie's Centres, a charity that provides free practical, emotional and social support to people living with cancer, as well as their families and friends.

Cancer affects so many lives, and Maggie's offers something truly special. Their centres, located alongside NHS cancer hospitals across the UK, provide a warm and welcoming environment where people can access expert advice, psychological support, benefits guidance, nutrition advice and simply a place to talk with others who understand what they are going through.

Importantly, Maggie's services are provided free of charge, but they rely heavily on voluntary donations to continue their vital work.

Every mile we walk and every blister we earn will be for the thousands of people and families who benefit from Maggie's support every year.
