Story
Every three minutes, dementia takes away another “happily ever after.” As a social worker supporting adults, I’ve seen firsthand how this devastating condition affects not just those living with dementia, but also their families and carers. I’ve had the privilege of working closely with many people affected by dementia, and I’ve also represented social care for a local dementia service here in the South-West.
Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people living with dementia. That’s why I support the UK’s leading dementia research charity. Your donation helps brilliant scientists and researchers develop new ways to diagnose dementia, create better treatments, and ultimately find a cure.
Around six months ago, I started running just for fun. What began as something occasional quickly became part of my daily routine. I discovered how much I loved it and gradually found myself running more and more often. As my confidence and passion grew, I wanted to challenge myself further and set a new goal.
That’s when I decided to run a marathon — and what better way to do it than by supporting a charity whose work I truly believe in. By taking on this challenge, I hope to raise vital funds and awareness for dementia research, and to play a small part in helping change the future for those affected by this condition.
