This weekend my family is participating in the Hike for Hospice at Limberlost Reserve in support of Algonquin Grace Hospice Huntsville. My Grandma June was exceptionally well cared for in her final 8 days at Algonquin Grace and it gave our family a quiet, peaceful place to spend our last bit of time with her and say goodbye.

Although we signed up and started fundraising for Grandma, none of us knew that 15 days later we would be reaching out for Hospice’s support to move Dad home for palliative care. Most people do not realize that hospice provides in-home support for those who wish to be in their own space. This was extremely important for dad and our family, and we couldn’t be more grateful that they made it happen in time.
