What’s occurring? I’m climbing "Yr Wyddfa" for The Shakespeare Hospice

Climbing Snowdon · 7 May 2025
On 7th May 2025 I’ll be climbing "Yr Wyddfa" (Snowdon) in memory of Julie ‘Judrop’ Hunt. My sister Julie would have been 54 years old on the 7th May but sadly we lost Judrop quickly and devastatingly to cancer on 7th August 2023. I vowed I’d never work again on her birthday but instead do something to bring her front and centre into our thoughts and hearts, especially on her birthday. Last year, recovering from my 2nd total hip replacement in a year, I sat and drank rose 🍷in a pub garden and raised a glass to Julie. This year I’m taking my new hips up a mountain with 4 of the best girl friends you could ever wish for and I will be drinking rose 🍷up there instead! ( Just the one Mrs Wembley!).
They say it takes an average of 10,000 steps to climb up the popular Llanberis Path of Yr Wyddfa. So I’d like to raise a minimum of £500 for the amazing Shakespeare Hospice who cared so compassionately for Julie at home until the end.
Maths is not my forte but that’s 5p a step. So together we could raise enough to support the essential palliative care hospital at home team to visit a loved one and their family, counselling support for those left behind and cover travel costs for the brilliant nurses going about their compassionate work on a daily basis.
Thank you for your continuing support. You’ve already been so generous so many times with your love and donations so however many steps you can cover, from my first 5p step to the last, it all helps. Step by step we will achieve more together. Thank you everyone. Mel xxxx
