Story
My nan, Marion, was diagnosed with alziemers and vascular dementia in 2023 having suffered with the early signs of the disease for some time. The disease has gradually taken hold of her, diminishing the strong, no nonsense woman she used to be, taking away her independence and ability to live at home.
My nan has always been an inspiration to my sister and I. She is one of the hardest working people we know, who believes you can do anything you put your mind to, so long as you work hard. So in an attempt live by nan's rules we have trained hard in January, getting 40 miles under our belt and will now be running 100k in February to raise money for Alzeimers Research UK.
We hope that the money we raise will help fund vital research, with the aim to find a cure for Dementia and hopefully make the disease a thing of the past.
