Steph's VE Day 80 Fundraiser for Blind Veterans UK

Steph Walters is raising money for Blind Veterans UK

Battersea Half Marathon

We believe every blind veteran should be able to lead the life they choose. At Blind Veterans UK we’re one, transformational team. We provide rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support. Together we can help rebuild lives.

Story

In 2025, we will mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, when Winston Churchill declared the end of the Second World War in Europe on 8 May 1945.

Blind Veterans UK is calling on supporters to join them in celebrating this historic milestone and the freedom that Victory in Europe allows us, whilst raising vital funds for our magnificent veterans and those who have followed, who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We feel strongly that it is our turn to give them their freedom to lead the independent and dignified lives they deserve and achieve their own victory over sight loss.

I am running the Battersea Half Marathon on 10 May 25 to raise funds for Blind Veterans UK. As a serving member of the Royal Air Force, I have followed in the footsteps of many generations of my family who have served in our Armed Forces. I would be so grateful for any donations - thank you in advance!
