Steph's fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK

I'm walking 500 miles across the widest part of England solo · 2 May 2025
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In June 2024 I set off to walk over 500 miles across the widest part of England - from the most westerly point of Land's End to the most easterly point of Ness Point in Lowestoft.
I planned to complete the walk within 30 days, however heavy rain and not being able to dry my gear out caused nasty blisters to develop on my feet which wouldn't heal. Eventually I had to halt my challenge at Shepton Mallet after walking across Cornwall, Devon and most of Somerset.
In May 2025 I am returning to Shepton Mallet to carry on where I left off and resume my walk to Ness Point.
Once again I will be completely self-supported and will be carrying all of my gear - including camping gear - on my back. Apart from a few nights in a hotel, I will be camping with some wild camps along the way.
Although I am a keen walker, I have never attempted anything like this so it will be a huge challenge for me.
I'm taking on this challenge to raise funds for Parkinson's UK. Parkinson's is the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world - currently around 153,000 people worldwide live with it.
Contrary to popular belief Parkinson's isn't just an older person's disease - many younger people are diagnosed each year too. Symptoms of Parkinson's include tremors, stiffness, pain, extreme fatigue, slowness of movement, memory issues and problems with sleep patterns. Parkinson's affects every part of someone's life.
Parkinson's UK is working tirelessly to find a cure and to improve life for the Parkinson's community.
