At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I'm raising money in memory of all family members that have suffered from Alzheimers and the ones suffering with it now. Aswell, for those friends that are supporting loved ones with Alzheimers at the moment.

Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia, a progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills. While the exact cause is unknown, increasing age and family history are significant risk factors. Currently, there is no cure.

Alzheimers can cause memory loss, cognitive decline, behavioral changes and progression can be unpredictable and quick.Having lived with someone who experienced these symptoms daily and the impact/challenge and stress it had on my family who juggled to make sure they was looked after, clean and safe. Its scary and horrible to see it happen before your eyes and not be able to do anything about it. But what I can do is share awareness and in my case RUN! RUN LIKE I NEVER RUN BEFORE!

So why not take on a Marathon while juggling family life, 2 kids, work, oh and I planned my wedding

! That sounds like a challenge. Decision was made, I was signed up and it didn't matter that I hate running and never ran further than 5K but slowly over the last 4 months, I've got up early or got out late and put in the training. Its not been easy but I hoping to show people they can do anything they put their minds too. Please show your support and encouragement and dontate today.
