We are raising money to support families affected by childhood cancer by climbing Mount Snowdon in Wales in September 21st!

The Opie Jones Foundation, was founded by Lucy and Lewis Ellerker-Jones, parents to Opie, who was diagnosed with Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at just 5 months old. He endured months of toxic chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant but sadly relapsed shortly after. He then became eligible for a personalized cell and gene therapy product, called a CAR-T therapy, which was his last line of hope for survival. The treatment wasn't without risks, but it worked and Opie has just celebrated 3 years cancer free at 4 years old!

During Opie's diagnosis, Lucy shared her feelings on her family's experience. She said, "Life changes forever when you are told your child has cancer...your family feels broken and separated. Opie is the youngest of 5 children and our family spent months apart while Opie was being treated in hospital. The impact of this trauma is unimaginable; but we understand firsthand what the trauma of navigating life with childhood cancer feels like and want to give back to families going through the same life-changing experience!"

The Opie Jones Foundation provides financial support to patients and their families to get private mental health therapy that is right for them to manage the impact of childhood cancer. In addition to this cause, we also advocate for earlier access to approved cell and gene therapies, and raise awareness of childhood cancers.
