Jingle Bell Drop 2024 · 14 December 2024 ·

We're getting into the festive spirit this December by taking part in Jingle Bell Drop – a Christmas Abseil challenge to raise life-saving funds for our heart unit, patients and families!

Story

🎶 Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell… DROP! 🎶

Dressed in my ‘festive best’ I will (hopefully!!) descend the monstrous MODA building in Leeds which stands at a whopping 148ft tall this December!

This event has been set up by the Leeds Childrens Heart Surgery Fund who raise life-saving funds for the world-class Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, patients with CHD in our region and their families.

Owen, who is now 10, was born with a heart condition. However at Christmas last year it was identified that he has a narrowing in his aorta. Since Christmas 2023, we have had numerous visits to LGI including 3 operations. Its been a difficult year and our journey continues, however this is an opportunity to try to give something back to a charity and the fantastic team of doctors and surgeons that work so tirelessly to save and improve children's lives.

Please donation if you are able - and pass on any tips! 148ft is rather on the high side!
