Women Build · 5 October 2024

In 1988, a group of community and congregational volunteers formed Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. Homes were rehabbed and eventually new homes were built. ReStore was added in 2004 and Home Repair Ministry in 2008. 200 homes and 300 plus repairs later, our focus remains on ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to own and live in safe and affordable housing. Everyone is invited to partner with us as a volunteer, sponsor, donor or advocate. Only with your hands, time, and donations can we work towards fulfilling our vision of a world in which everyone has a decent place to live.

Story

I am thrilled to be participating in the Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity Women Build this year. On October 5th, I will be leading a build day to support affordable housing in our community. Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to providing families in Lucas County with new or rehabbed homes through a 0% mortgage, along with financial and home maintenance education for long-term success. Affordable housing is truly life-changing, offering families a stable foundation to grow and thrive. My personal goal is to raise $2,500 for this Women Build day, where I will be volunteering alongside a group of strong women leaders who work tirelessly to positively impact our community every day. Your contribution, no matter the size, will help us build a house for future homeowner, Chrissy, and her two sons. Together, we can help make the dream of homeownership a reality!
